In 2024-2025 Rose has been working on both a novel and a film version of her original 2014 short story, The Housekeeper, (available in The American Lover short story collection).

The film, commissioned and produced by Julia Taylor-Stanley at Artemis films, will be directed by Richard Eyre and will star Anthony Hopkins, Helena Bonham Carter and Catriona Balph. Pre-production will begin in November. The novel will appear from Chatto & Windus in May 2026.
