Best Books… Polly Samson

Polly Samson, the novelist and contributing lyricist on two of Pink Floyd’s album, picks her five favourite books. Here’s what she had to say about Rose’s book The Road Home:

“There isn’t a book by Rose Tremain that I haven’t read and loved, but this is the one I keep with me as a touchstone. It tells the story of Lev, who comes to England from Eastern Europe with nothing but a hugely warm (but broken) heart. It’s about homesickness and fortitude and every sort of love, and Lev is a character who remains long after the last page is turned.”
